Montgomery County Motor Vehicle Accident Settles at Mediation: $75,000.00

Today was a great settlement of an intersectional accident case pending in Montgomery County, PA. Plaintiff was a lovely, elderly woman whose vehicle was struck by Defendant who disregarded a steady read traffic light. Plaintiff alleged approximately $20,000.00 in special damages and claimed multiple disc protrusions in her cervical and lumbar spines. While there was no issue of liability, one major issue was that Plaintiff was bound by the “limited tort” option on her insurance policy which required she prove a “serious impairment of body function” at trial. Both parties recognized the inherent risk in proceeding to trial and worked very hard to effectuate an amicable settlement.
