Philadelphia County Settlement at Mediation: $110,000.00

This was a premises liability action against a local mall. Plaintiff alleged she slipped and fell on water which had accumulated in the common area of the mall. Plaintiff claimed she sustained a left hip fracture and also claimed approximately $8,000.00 in unpaid medical bills. The defense contended it had no notice of any alleged water accumulation and also disputed the nature and extent of Plaintiff’s claimed injuries. Both sides worked to secure an amicable settlement rather than undertake the time, expense and unpredictability of a jury trial.
