Philadelphia Settlement at Mediation: $500,000.00

I am pleased to report a very amicable settlement in a premises liability action. Plaintiff slipped and fell on ice which had not been properly treated. She sustained a severe ankle fracture which required surgery and the implantation of a metal plate with screws. Plaintiff further claimed approximately $50,000.00 in unpaid medical bills and asserted an additional $71,000.00 in future medical bills. The Independent Medical Examination undertaken by the defense further buttressed Plaintiff’s claims. Plaintiff was rather pleasant and likely would have made an excellent witness at trial. Ultimately, both Parties compromised to procure a very fair settlement.
