Philadelphia Settlement at Mediation: $550,000.00

I recently brokered a fabulous settlement in a premises liability matter in which Plaintiff alleged she was injured as a result of ice and/or snow which was permitted to remain in a common area of an apartment complex. Plaintiff alleged an aggravation to underlying spinal conditions such that she was required to undergo multiple spinal injections as well as spinal decompression surgery. She was also asserting a claim for unpaid medical bills of approximately $50,000.00. The defense asserted, in part, that this fall played no role in her need for injections and surgery and was instead attributable to the natural progression of her underlying condition which had existed for approximately ten (10) years before. Ultimately, everyone worked hard to resolve this matter without the risk of a jury trial.
